Can we afford this?
If someone on the team already pays for Claude or Codex, Hands runs on that subscription and costs nothing more. Otherwise you top up credits and pay per turn, with a monthly cap you set — work stops at the ceiling rather than quietly continuing. There are no seats to buy, so a volunteer costs the same as a director: nothing.
Is donor data safe?
It stays on your machine. Config, files and the ledger sit in one folder on the computer running Hands — no account to create, no copy of your donor list on our servers. What leaves is the context a turn needs, sent to whichever model you chose. If that's still too much for a given file, don't connect that folder.
