Pricing

Two ways to pay, no seats in either

Hands is a desktop app that runs on your machine. What costs money is the thinking — so that is the only thing you pay for, and you can bring your own.

Bring your own

No charge from us

  • Runs on the Claude, Codex or Grok CLI already signed in on your machine
  • Your existing subscription, no second bill and no proxy in between
  • Point a Hand at any ACP or OpenAI-compatible endpoint instead, through config
  • Every feature. Nothing sits behind a paywall

Hands credits

Pay per turn, from credits

  • Top up a balance and spend it as your staff works — no monthly minimum
  • Each company keeps its own balance, cap and receipts
  • A turn that would exceed your cap is refused before it spends, not after
  • Nothing renews on its own. Stop topping up and it stops

How a turn is priced

Spend the cheap model where it's enough

A router picks the model per turn instead of running everything on the expensive one. Short lookups and housekeeping go to the cheap tier. Ordinary work goes to the standard tier. The heavy model comes out when the work earns it — a hard problem, or a second attempt after a failure.

Rates are per million tokens, published in the app before you spend anything, and every turn is receipted: which model ran, how many tokens each way, what it cost. Cached input is charged at the lower cached rate, because on a long working thread that is where most of a bill actually sits.

TierComes out for
CheapOne-step asks, titles, summaries, routing
StandardThe everyday work, and the default
HeavyHard problems, and anything that failed once

A tier can rise inside a task, never fall — switching models mid-task throws away the cache and costs more than it saves.

What you can see

The bill is a list of things that happened

Balance and burn

What's left, what this month cost, the average cost of a turn, and how long the balance lasts at the current rate.

Per Hand, per model, per day

An expensive month is usually one Hand or one habit. The split says which, instead of leaving you to guess.

Caps you set

A monthly ceiling per company and a limit per turn. At the ceiling, work stops rather than quietly continuing.
